Inclusion is an advocacy that is truly growing in today’s Philippine society, supported by the goal of quality education to be made accessible to all. This has opened our doors to diversity within the space where education thrives, pushing progress forward for students hindered by disability, gender, socioeconomic status, cultural heritage, language preference, and other factors.

To commend and celebrate these efforts, The Teacher’s Gallery would like to spearhead the 3rd Inclusive Schools Week Celebration here in the Philippines on December 7 – 11, 2020 with the theme: “The Time for Inclusion is Now.”

Inclusive Schools Week is an annual event in the USA sponsored by the Inclusive Schools Network (ISN) and Stetson & Associates, Inc. This time, the annual event will be spearheaded by The Teacher’s Gallery in the Philippine setting. This is a celebration of fostering inclusion for all students who come from all kinds of backgrounds.

Principals, administrators, teachers, leaders, students, parents – everyone who plays a role in inclusive education is invited to join the celebration and encouraged to conduct simple activities at any time and day during the Inclusive Schools Week showing how they value and practice inclusion. You can organize your very own ISW with your school! It doesn’t have to be grand – it can be as simple as holding a sign language workshop, to holding a week-long forum series about Inclusive Education.

Through this, we hope to spark a meaningful discussion with educators, students, and parents on what inclusion means in education spaces. These may be a virtual classroom, school, and community-wide initiatives – all contributed by everyone who will participate. By joining together in this celebration, we hope that we would be able to unite as one in creating more inclusive environments within schools and the communities to which they belong, contributing to creating a more inclusive society.
