Inclusion is an advocacy that is truly growing in today’s Philippine society, supported by the goal of quality education to be made accessible to all. This has opened our doors to diversity within the space where education thrives, pushing progress forward for students hindered by disability, gender, socioeconomic status, cultural heritage, language preference, and other factors.
To commemorate this, we would like to invite various schools and stakeholders to celebrate the Inclusive Schools Week PH 2018, the first-ever celebration of inclusive education in the Philippines on December 3-7, 2018.
Inclusive Schools Week is an annual event in the USA sponsored by the Inclusive Schools Network (ISN) and Stetson & Associates, Inc. This time, the annual event will be spearheaded by The Teacher’s Gallery in the Philippine setting. This is a celebration of fostering inclusion for all students who come from all kinds of backgrounds.
Principals, administrators, teachers, leaders, students, parents – everyone who plays a role in inclusive education is invited to join the celebration. Create your own workshops, group discussions, and simulations to learn more about inclusion and its applications.
Through this, we hope to spark a meaningful discussion with educators, students, and parents on what inclusion means in education spaces. These may be a classroom, school, and community-wide initiatives – all contributed by everyone who will participate. By joining together in this celebration, we hope that we would be able to unite as one in creating more inclusive environments within schools and the communities to which they belong, contributing to creating a more inclusive society.
